Simbana-J is a fine art photographer who works in connection with her family, home space, and distance. Born in Towson, Maryland, she is a second-generation Ecuadorian American. After leaving to study photography at Rhode Island School of Design, Simbana-J returns home at every opportunity, desperately investigating all that has changed, shifted, and remained in her absence.
